What do you want more of?

Our Hawaiian trip~during this shoot I found out that I earned the Lexus!

If you would've told me ten years ago that I could have family/work balance, own a piece of the multi-billion dollar global skincare market, and could do it all from home or while traveling? I would've told you that you were nuts. But it IS absolutely possible to live the life you imagine. This is not another job, but a lifestyle focused on sharing, being creative & giving back. I know because it has happened for me and it can work for you too, if you're motivated and committed to learning as you go-I can show you how!

In my life before children, I was a special education teacher. I worked with children and adults with various special needs, mainly autism and severe disabilites. To say I loved it, and that I felt strongly that it was my vocation, would be an understatement. But-I did not love how much time I spent unpaid, and how much that was expected of us over and above our workload with no real concern how much that time took us away from our families.

When our first daughter arrived, we decided I would stay at home, giving up that career, a paycheck, & unknowingly, my self-worth {which sounds kind of silly because what is more worthy than being a mom?}. I didn't realize how my identity was so tied up in my profession & it was a difficult transition to becoming a stay at home mom. I'm sure there are mom's out there who can relate! Things got tough financially, and as you can see we added a couple more to our family, so I was looking for a way to contribute to our finances while not giving up time with the kids, or stressing my husband who was working to support us. We knew we couldn't afford the childcare.

I wasn't looking for a sales job. I've never worked in sales before! I wasn't looking for skincare. I wasn't looking to do "one of those party businesses". I didn't even really wash my face! But I WAS looking for something I could do with flexible hours & when presented with the business, I realized the opportunity with a past-proven skincare company was one that I couldn't turn away from. No inventory, no parties, and no billing or delivery on my end. The company handles it all.

I'm not going to lie, I was skeptical about starting in the direct selling industry, because I didn't have any experience. But at the same time I couldn't stop thinking about it! I had a gut feeling that I couldn't ignore, and here I am almost 4 years later, grateful & completely humbled by the decision that has absolutely changed our lives.

Because of taking that leap and becoming an entrepreneur, I've stepped more into my mantra of, 'What do I want more of & what do I want less of in my life'. I wanted more freedom, more time with my children & to be financially secure. I wanted to have a deeper spiritual connection, & find ways to deal with anxiety in a holistic way.

This business has given me all of that, and so much more. I've become empowered not only from my own business growing, but watching my teammates achieve success as well. Taking that leap allowed me to see that the "leaps" I was worrying about weren't so scary after all, and it was easier to TRY than tell myself a story about failure!

I took another chance, & began a 200RYT Karma yoga teacher training and now I get to teach yoga a few times a week while working my skincare business full time.

THIS has been my dream! To focus on what I WANT to do, not what I HAVE TO do to stay afloat. I'm able to practice yoga, give back to charities in ways I never could have before, while sharing the gifts of this business model with others. When our team celebrated the huge accomplishment of earning a free Lexus, I was able to give 3 adaptive bikes away to children with special needs at no cost to their families. Talk about a full-circle moment!

My kids now have experiences they never would've been able to have before this opportunity changed our lives. This business has become our vehicle to see the world, and has allowed me to re-invent myself. What better gift can I give my kids than to let them see when life is not going as planned, you CHANGE the course!

Find what lights you up. Find where your heart is. Then keep moving in that direction until the path becomes clearer. Believe in yourself enough to try.
